A relative new comer, opening its shop in 2002, LUMP has already smoothed to the top of Tokyo’s street scene. Tokyo designers Hiroaki Shitano/whiz and Atsushi Horiki/Rebirth have developed two brands now commonly referred to as “LUMP Style.”

These two street-wear brands have been known to create one-of-a-kind orginality and highly recognizable design. A definitive leader oF Tokyo’s street scene, whiz and Rebirth’s designs are truly happening, bringing diverse fashion genres together at new levels. Eclisping the more well-known and established street-wear names of Tokyo, whiz and Rebirth have pioneered a new generation with a solid presence, rising above the saturated market and providing a new “eye” for Tokyo’s street scene.
Rebirth – Collaborating with the Japanese movie distribution company for the legendary Tod Browning’s 1932 horror film “Freaks” producing official t-shirts for the revival showing in Japan has contributed to their credit. Also successful, creating an incredibly detailed official “Sloth” figurine from the movie “Goonies” featuring all hand made clothing.
whiz – In a collaboration with Marvel Comics resulting in further exposure, whiz was granted free use of all the comic’s characters and logos. Changing colors and layouts, whiz produced a T-shirt line resulting in a great impact mutually. “I was fortunate enough to show my previous season’s catalog to Marvel Comics and they really liked it. I did not mean to go in this direction but it’s an honor to do something like this.”, whiz designer Hiroaki quoted as saying.
When we asked Hiroaki and Atsushi where they come up with such exceptional designs, they said, “We really don’t have a distinct concept or theme like one would expect. Each seasons represents ourselves and what has influenced us the most. We create things from our surroundings.” Such dedication and the resulting fame has caused many young followers to step aside and accept Hiroaki and Atsushi”s “LUMP Style” as the untouchable leader.
