Star Wars is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, and there are currently many Star Wars collaborations held around us like USPS R2-D2 Post, USPS x Star Wars stamps and shipping envelopes. Plus other collectibles, such as coins, albums, figurines, etc…..
What you are about to see are handmade masterpieces: Darth Vader Kabuto (Shogun Helmet) sets, released by Japanese traditional doll company Yoshitoku, based in Asakusa, which is celebrating 300th anniversary this year. All sets are completely handcrafted and can only produce in limited number of 50 sets each on pre-order bases. (The pre-order process ended on May 31st – Japan Only).
Darth Vader’s visual concept is said to be implementing the distinct form of a Japanese full suited armor (Yoroi & Kabuto) that was worn by by shoguns’ during the age of Japanese civil war. Star Wars x Yoshitoku Darth Vader Kabuto set priced at JP¥ 346,500 (~US$ $2,850).
