Founded by stylist and photographer Takashi Kumagai, the popular Japanese label http://gdcweb.jp” target=”_blank”>GDC, which focus on basic, traditional design with a twist, collaborated with http://casio.com” target=”_blank”>Casio to produce its very first http://gshock.com” target=”_blank”>G-Shock watch. Based on the model DW-6900, the GDC edition imprinted the whimsical proverb “A Rolling Stone Gathers No Moss” on the watch’s face as well as its band. GDC’s logo and the proverb can also be found engraved onto the watch’s back. The watch comes in a simple box, made of cardboard, adorned with large photos of lotus flower. Through and through, from the watch to its packaging, all reflect the key concept of GDC: simplicity. Limited at 1000 watches at the retail price of JP¥ 19,950 (~US$ 160), the watch is due to launch in September.
