A total of 14,023 t-shirt designs from 11 nations entered in the 3rd annual UNIQLO Creative Award this year. 9 judges, each a distinguished member of their disciplines, such as trendsetter (Sarah of Colette), graffiti artist (Boris Tellegen of DELTA), photographer (Daido Moriyama), and painter (Yoshitaka Amano), made up the panel. Each of the judges were to chose their own favorite design as well as the Grand Prix design. After the selection process ran its course, a total of 27 designs – 17 runner-ups which received UNIQLO Top Selection title, 9 designs which received Judge’s Choice status, and 1 favorite design which won Grand Prix title.
The Grand Prix went to Minoru Hagiwara, a public administer who is considering a new career as a designer. Recognitions for all were handed out in an award ceremony on April 13th in Tokyo. All 27 designs are currently available at all UNIQLO locations across the globe.
