2007 marks the fourth year of Doernbecher Freestyle, a collaborative project between Nike and Doernbecher Children’s Hospital in Oregon that honors special Doernbecher patients who overcame great medical challenges. Each honoree, with assistances from the Nike creative teams, gets to create his or hers sneaker that convey their expressions on their lives, experiences and goals. Each design will go on sale Friday, November 9th, at Niketown stores across the US and online to raise funds for the hospital. Thus far, the project raised over $877,000 for Doernbecher Children’s Hospital.
A few days ago Freshness showcased the sports-themed Nike Dunk Low by Ricky Rudd, who overcame leukemia. Here is the line-up of the rest of the Doernbecher Freestyle 4.
