To commemorate the start of “Scores for Schools“, an annual charity program established by NBA All-Star Gilbert “Gils” Arenas. adidas created a special “Scores for Schools” sneaker that will only be for sale at Arena’s website. 100% of the proceeds will go to Arena’s Zero Two Hero Foundation, aiming at providing housing for single parent families. adidas will also contribute a donation to Arial Home Initiative, in reaching the organization’s goal of building 1 million home in 10 years.
Since this commemoration is about Arenas’ “Scores for Schools”program, adidas will donate an additional 82 pairs of the “Scores for Schools” special edition sneakers, autographed and dated by the man himself, to each of the winning schools from the greater Washington D.C. area. At the end of this coming NBA season, each schools will have the option to auction its autographed pair, to raise additional money for their students.
