Over the course of the new NBA season, the NBA All-Star Guard for Washington Wizards, Gilbert Arenas, will be launching one of the most elaborate collaboration to date. Working in conjunction with adidas REMIX collection, Arenas will launch the Team Signature Lightswitch – GIL II ZERO, a collection with 20 styles, each reflects Arenas not only as a talented basketball player, but an athlete that understand his role in the community and a loving father.
The 20 sneakers will be categorized into 3 distinct divisions – Underground, Elite, and Preferred, with the Underground series being the most limited and exclusive in availability. Both Elite and Preferred series are also limited in numbers. However, the sneakers in those 2 series will be more widely distribute.
To kick the start of 2007 NBA season, Arenas launched his “Scores for Schools”, an annual charity program where by each score Arenas receive at a Home game, $100 will donation will go to the program. In return, Abe Pollen, the owner of Washington Wizards, will match that amount in every Away games. A total of 82 schools in the Washington area will benefit from this unique philanthropy program. To stress the importance of giving, adidas created a special “Scores for Schools” GIL II ZERO . The proceeds will go to another charity established by Arena, Zero Two Hero Foundation, which aimed at providing housing for single parent families. In addition, adidas will contribute a donation to Arial Home Initiative and the “Scores for Schools” program.
The sneaker is set to launch on February 1st of next year .
