ASICS Onitsuka Tiger - Electric Light Shoe

Early last year, Onitsuka Tiger division of ASICS created an amazing artwork with artist Gary Baseman for its "Made of Japan" marketing campaign. To continue that synergy between creativity and marketing, Onitsuka Tiger, in conjunction with creative agency StrawberryFrog and Dutch design specialist Freedom Of Creation, created an integral sculpture that tells a continuation from the "Made of Japan" storyline. Modeled after the city of Tokyo, the 1-meter (~3 foot) long featured the neon skyline, congested highways, and teeming rolls of signages. The sculpture also paid homage to Japanese sub-culture, such as Godzilla, with its inclusion. LED lights and neon band further assist in the sculpture's completion. The sculpture, along with its smaller counterparts, will take center stage for Onitsuka Tiger's 2008 global campaign.
