Originally an Asian transplant living in Vancouver, Tony, who sometimes goes by the initials WR, launched a series of hand silk-screened t-shirts, which he called WRONG WROKS, in the Fall of 2005. Its humorous antics on existing cultural references, such as the label’s first character, manga/anime icon Doraemon wearing sneakers, garnered WRONG WROKS some momentum as a brand. By 2006, the label’s collection is in retailers like Colette and Summit of Taiwan. Recently, Overkill Shop (Berlin) just received WRONG WROKS’ new collection for Spring/Summer 2008, including another Doraemon-based t-shirt -Dora-Bob! All are currently available at Overkill.
