Royalefam Spring/Summer 2008 Black Saigon

As Mark Ong, aka SBTG, tells it. The offerings from Royalefam for Spring & Summer 2008 is an “interpretation of war & death” via: influences from “military aesthetics” . Those inspirations are quite clear in Black Saigon. Gone are the usual fare of camouflages and images of war machines. Instead, SBTG dove further into the psyche of great military forces, past and present, by the utilization of their emblems – the revision to the German Wehrmacht’s eagle crest, the updated Soviet hammer and sickle icon, the altered marking of an elite U.S. fighter squadron. But it isn’t just an alteration to the graphics. SBTG also created interesting “hybrids”, such a hoodie in M-65 jacket form. The Royalefam – Spring/Summer 2008 – Black Saigon Collection is currently available on Royalefam and soon at retailers near you.
