So the events led up to securing the console had the makings of a spy novel: a simple email with clandestine instructions, a meeting on the 13th floor within the Grand Lodge of the Free Masons, a darken conference room full of electronic gadgetries. Then, the trip back to the office with 2 unmarked shopping bags. Okay, there were bits of exaggeration behind the story above. But there was a hint of secrecy as the 178th Xbox 360 console was given to Freshness last week.
Essentially a Xbox 360 Elite unit, Xbox took the coverings apart, then applied a montage of scenes from the long awaited Grand Theft Auto IV (4), with automotive paint onto both side. A serial number was added, the entire package was gloss over with industrial strength clear coat. Accompanied each exclusive Xbox 360 is an aluminum attache case. In it, all the necessary gaming accessories are inset into shaped foam lining. Only 500 units were produced for promotional purpose only. Rumor has it Pharrell picked up the console before us.
All the elaborate setup is to inaugurate the launch of Grand Theft Auto IV (GTA 4) by Rockstar Games. Due to launch on April 29th, the newest edition of GTA will be base on Sony PS3, and for the first time from release day, on Xbox 360 as well. Because of its long association with the Sony PlayStation, the developers created exclusive, downloadable plot lines for the Xbox 360 version of GTA 4. In fact, add in the playability along with the superior multi-player experience of Xbox LIVE, many game previews have already rated the Xbox 360 version of GTA 4 to be the better one.
