Despite all its technical advancements and modern marvels, Japan is still a nation rooted in traditions. The best example of this are the festivities that mark the passing of a season. During the height of the Spring season, there is hanami (花見), or cherry blossoms viewing. And for the upcoming Summer months, there is hanabi (花ç«), or fireworks display. Literally means “flower-fire”, hanabi events are usually put on as part of the Summer festivals, taking place in townships all over Japan.
After a year of conception and planning, Bå° YOSHIDA (B JIRUSHI YOSHIDA) – the collaborative venture between Japanese retailer BEAMS and YOSHIDA KABAN (manufacture of PORTER bags), previewed the Hanabi Tote, a special collection for firework viewing this Summer. Along with a special Bå° YOSHIDA PORTER tote, made of clear vinyl, is a beautifully printed towel, with the evening scenery of firework display. Also included is an unique fan. Produced by hand and based on methods passed down from the Edo (江戸) period, some 400 years ago. Each fan went through a rigorous 21 steps to produce, a process that took 6 months!
This special offering is only available through Bå° YOSHIDA (B JIRUSHI YOSHIDA)
