MUJI (無印良品) AWARD 3 - International Design Competition

With an understanding that consumers, in his/her everyday lives, retain inspirations that could possibly be the next big ideas. Design retailer MUJI (無印良品) created its MUJI AWARD as a channel for those ideas to come life. So starting July 1st, the company will be accepting submission to this, the 3rd edition, international design award Any individual or group, no matter their sex, age, profession… can submit their proposals. Plus applicants can submit as much ideas as they want. As long as their ideas center on this year design theme, which is “Found MUJI”. The entries will be judge by 6 distinguished individuals, including MUJI’s creative director Kazuko Koike and product designer Jasper Morrison.

8 winning designs will be announce around October of this year. With a prize of US$ 20,000 going to the #1, US$ 10,000 going to #2, and six US$ 2,000 awrads going to #3 rank. All winning designs will also be consider as the next possible MUJI products.
