It was too long, Fall of last year to be exact, that sneaker & apparel retailer Premium Laces opened its door. And already the store gone through a renovation. It still retains much of its no-frill appearance both on the exterior and interior. No logo in front, raw concrete, industrial strength lighting… After all, sneaker addicts are only interested in the objects of their addiction. What Premium Laces discreetly did was an extension towards the rear of the storefront. Now the store offers more rare sneakers to their customers than before.
Another addition is a series of works by artist Frank Cole Jr. Hung just above the rows of sneakers, each work looks like a photo until a closer inspection. The works are actually photo-realistic paintings, with a focus on graffiti filled street scene, or “Urban Landscapes” so named by the classically trained painter. Most are actual scenes with actual graffiti tags in or around New York City. And for those who are interested in purchase these amazing works of art, visit his website here. Meanwhile, you can check out Premium Laces at its location on Spring Street in SoHo, right in front of the #6 Subway stop.
