In celebration of the 30th anniversary of George Lucas’ sci-fi epic, Star Wars, a collective 13 Japanese artists and labels join curators Dov Kelemer and Sarah Jo Marks (both of DKE Toys) in the re-imagination of one the most memorable villains in cinema, Darth Vader.
Each of the collaborators were given a 1:1 scale Darth Vader helmet, constructed identically to the original prop used in the films. Each of the helmet also served as a 3-dimensional canvas and permitted the collaborators to fully exercised their re-interpretation of the Seth lord. Their works will join other Vader helmets created by artists in both Europe and US during 2007 portion of the exhibition tour.
