With just days away, the 2008 Summer Olympic in Beijing will mark a great stride in the sport of BMX.  A total of 24 women and 32 men will compete at the debut event  in front of 15,000 spectators.  One athlete to watch in Ma Liyun, the female BMX rider from China, who will enter the event as a wildcard.  One of her main equipments will be the Chinese version of the Nike Dunk Gyrizo.

In the national colors of red and yellow, the Nike Dunk Gyrizo – China will include a golden Swoosh and tiny chain links graphics adhere to the upper.   Though the outward appearance resembles a Nike SB Dunk, make no mistake, the Nike Dunk Gyrizo Men’s BMX Shoe is a completely different beast.  Laces made of Kevlar composite and metallic eyelets to ensure endurance on the course.  Ankle strap and lace pockets to keep all the appendages away from the spokes.  Rubber outsole along with thinner midsole equal comfort and flexibility.  Lastly, the sneaker is 100% SPD compatible. In case you’re wondering, the name Gyrizo means “gears” in Greek.
