One common misconception regarding any form of collaborations is that the end result must not only convey clearly the brand identities of the 2 or more collaborators, but that it must encompassed in complexities and ideas. Of course, such course is absolutely unnecessary for any collaborations. Case in point, the joint project between http://xlarge.com” target=”_blank”>XLARGE and entertainment giant http://disney.go.com/index” target=”_blank”>Disney. Inspired by scenes from “The Petshop”, a 1933 animated short which featured 2 icons: Mickey Mouse and King Kong. The X-Disney T-Shirt also features the 2, with exception that Mickey Mouse is visible as the foreground while King Kong and a distressed victim he’s holding only appear as a shadowy silhouette.
A collaboration with a simple, straight forward idea, yet the brand identities of both XLARGE and Disneys came through clearly. The t-shirt, limited in quantity, is currently available at XLARGE retail store in Los Angeles and its online store.
