Since 1940, Japanese furniture maker karimoku (カリモク家具)been churning out premium quality furnishings.  The company’s integration of traditional Japanese woodworking methods and efficient contemporary manufacturing system that by 1972, the company has become the number 1 producer of wooden furniture in all of Japan.  However, through out its 68 years, karimoku retained its stringent policies of procuring lumber from managed forests instead and the usage of non-toxic varnish & glue.  Important agendas which only came to attention of the general public in recent years.

Aside from its collaboration BE@RBRICK with Japanese web-zine OPENERS, karimoku also created a limited edition solely with MEDICOM TOY.  Measured at 400%, each is composed from a range of wood pressed together, making the figure  to consist of one-of-the-kind grains.  Only 150 units available worldwide, the MEDICOM TOY x karimoku – 400% BE@RBRICK is currently on sale at selected retailers worldwide, including The-Glade online store.
