Though all 3 are closely affiliated with one another, the brands trio of http://madhectic.com” target=”_blank”>HECTIC, http://madhectic.com/masterpiece/news/index.html” target=”_blank”>MASTERPIECE, and http://madhectic.com/rocstar/news/index.html” target=”_blank”>ROC STAR drawn on each of their own design themes from quite different sources. Both MASTERPIECE and HECTIC focused on hip-hop and fixed gear cycling. Meanwhile, ROC STAR and the label’s creative director, DJ Daruma, takes the label’s design cues from Tokyo club kids.
ROC STAR Fall/Winter 2008 collection marks the label’s first foray into the sneaker category. Simply named “The Shoes”, it comes in all black or all white, a reflection of the growing popularity in monotone sequence. The construction is mostly suede upper with 3 Velcro straps in patent leather on a mid-top frame. Interior is lined with “Gabi Gabi”, ROC STAR’s own version of the dazzle camouflage pattern. The ROC STAR – The Shoe Sneaker is currently available at the HECTIC flagship in Harajuku, its online store, and select retailers such as http://zozo.jp/shop/eproze” target=”_blank”>eproze chapter of http://zozo.jp” target=”_blank”>ZOZOTOWN shopping network.
