Nike Pegasus 25 - A Considered Design Running Shoe
For this new version fewer materials are used in the upper and smarter pattern-efficiency resulted in less waste, leading to an impressive reduction of 1.4 ounces of weight, or 13 percent, over the previous Pegasus. Less weight = less waste. As with the rest of the line, Environmentally Preferred Materials (EPMs) were used wherever possible. The EPMs used in the upper have a high recycled content.

Smarter Pattern Efficiency
Nike Air bags were ‘nested’ together using smarter pattern efficiency in order to reduce waste.

Recycled Materials
The outsole uses Nike’s environmentally-preferred rubber as well as recycled Nike Grind. The Nike Air bags also used 83 percent recycled content.
Water-Based Adhesives
Best-practice manufacturing enabled the air bag and midsole components to be attached using water-based adhesives.
