A preview to an unique project taking place in Paris next month by none other than Steve Powers (aka ESPO). In conjunction with creative collective, Business Class, and fellow artist Matt Goias, Powers and Goias will both commemorate the 20th anniversary of World AIDS Day with “L’Attraction De La Boue”, translated as “Pull of the Mud”, a French slang for hiring prostitutes.
Leading up to the World AIDS Day on December 1st, both artist will create a series of raincoats and distribute to prostitutes in the red light districts of Paris. A symbolism in promoting protection to those most greatly at risk to the exposure of the HIV virus. As Powers stated, “We strive to protect you from the elements in high fashion and function, from the slick yellow vinyl shell to the latex condoms in the pockets. It’s the most we can do.”
On December 1st, a limited edition hotel key card (seen above), designed by Goias, will be release at Colette, to further the themes of both protection and escapism. Signed by both Powers and Goias, with units limited to 200 only, the “L’Attraction De La Boue” hotel key cards will be available at Colette starting December 1st.
Additionally, Colette will be showing an exhibition of ESPO’s paintings called “A True Provider Is Good To Find” starting December 1st as well.
