Adding part humor with a good dose of cynicism and you have the New York-based clothing label, Twon. Along with its already popular Newyork City T-Shirt, in the graphic element of Newport cigarette packaging, and the Monogram Canal Street (Canal GC) T-Shirt, as a statement to the largest hub of counterfeit goods. The designers at Twon also added the label’s first long-sleeve sweatshirt, as a homage to the infamous Red Bird subway, a favorite moving medium of graffiti artists here in NYC. Another noteworthy item is the “I’m A Plastic Bag” Tee, a comical take on the Anya Hindmarch‘s I’m Not A Plastic Bag collaboration with green grocer Whole Food, which caused a chaotic queue last Summer. Twon’s latest collection will be available in selected retailers, such as The Reed Space, Union NYC, Memes, atmos NYC, and others, in the coming weeks.
