Once a tranquil residential neighborhood, the Tung District, or better known as Eastern District, of Taipei City has transformed into the city’s Mecca of contemporary fashion. Stores such as the original BAPE flagship, UNDERCOVER, to the more recently additions of INVINCIBLE and Porter KURA CHIKA, all situated just blocks apart from each other. Adding to that list is the new re-opened adidas Originals.
After a major renovation, the bi-level adidas Originals flagship re-opened its doors this morning, just hours before another major adidas event, the 6009 House Party. In the midst of well-wishers and traditional Chinese lion dance performance (don in adidas blue), 2 special guests helped in the store unveiling (or “unlacing”) – Hong Kong-base artist Dorophy Tang (鄧卓越) and tennis legend Stan Smith. Along with an autograph session where Stan Smith presented special pairs of the classic adidas Stan Smith sneaker, Dorophy Tang also debut a special Taiwan edition for her “BB” vinyl figure collection.
