Not to be outdone by its rival, http://activision.com” target=”_blank”>Activision officially announced its newest music-oriented gaming title, http://djhero.com” target=”_blank”>DJ HERO. An offshoot from its immensely successful http://activision.com/index.html#brand|en_US|brandId:GuitarHero” target=”_blank”>GUITAR HERO franchise, which gross $2 billion dollars in sales worldwide, DJ HERO let you “be the life of the party”, and allow you to spin away popular dance tunes and hip-hop tracks.

The game will include a customized turntable controller with the familiar 4 color-coded buttons. Available in versions for the 4 major gaming consoles: Xbox 360, PS2, PlayStation 3, and Wii, DJ HERO will due out towards the end of October this year, with selected retailers (like http://amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&location=http%3A%2F%2Famazon.com%2Fs%3Furl%3Dsearch-alias%253Daps%26field-keywords%3DDJ%2BHero%26x%3D0%26y%3D0&tag=freshness-20&linkCode=ur2&camp=1789&creative=9325″ target=”_blank”>Amazon) taking pre-release orders now.

In addition, just prior to the E3 gaming tradeshow this week, Activision briefly introduced a special edition of DJ HERO, currently in the works, with http://eminem.com/” target=”_blank”>EMINEM and http://rocafella.com/Artist.aspx?id=1&avid=121&idj=352″ target=”_blank”>Jay-Z. It will include new greatest hits CDs, controller with advance functions, a DJ stand and a metal carring case. One other possibility is the special edition may include previously unreleased tracks.
