Designer Jun Takahashi’s cult Japanese label, Undercover, is well known in the industry for all the weird and wonderful references in its design aesthetics (one of them being taxidermy). The label has embarked on another interesting project, collaborating with British post-punk band, Public Image Ltd. Public Image Ltd. was born from the ashes of Sex Pistols, formed by vocalist John Lydon after the Sex Pistols disbanded. The Public Image Ltd. opts for a more innovative and experimental sound and had been dubbed the first “post-rock” group by UK’s New Music Express.
This limited edition collection features some preppy punk blazers in rare purple and grey. The blazers have a fantastic black/yellow patterned trimming and features the PiL logo on the chest pocket. Other than blazers, the collection also carries a line of t-shirts with printed portraits of the band, and logo t-shirts with chest pockets. There is also a small collection of accessories–bracelets and rings with PiL logos engraved onto simple silver pieces. The collection is available for a limited time only from Jun 5 to 7 at the promotion space in Shinjuku’s Isetan.
