In one form or another, Ebisu-base retailer/label Gallery 1950 (aka G1950) survived the effect of the last great recession, when Japan’s real estate prices plummeted. Now with another economic crisis upon us, G1950 wanted to highlight quality over quantity argument with the theme “Less Is More”, in the form of graphic tee, the simplistic statement. But as with many G1950 products, the design theme for summer this year held a double meaning as well, with the appearance of Ausstellung, the German word for “exposition”.
