George Cox x BAL Monkey Boots

U.K.-base shoemaker George Cox has been a prominence of trends since 1906.  Its use of double layer crepe gum rubber sole and the adaptation of Goodyear Welt production in 1949 (since a signature look) made its funky Wingtips a favorite among Rockbillies and Sock Hoppers in the 1950s to Punk Rockers of the 1980s.

Recently, the 100+ year old classic partnered with the Japanese apparel label BAL in designing the Monkey Boots.  So named for its unique appearance of conjoining patent leather (forefoot) with Aniline leather (rear portion), the George Cox x BAL design again offers the same hip factors of oversize soles and contrasts elements.  Available in navy tone-on-tone upper/black sole or grey tone-on-tone/white sole, the exclusive collection will not be launch till December of this year.

However, the product’s announcements have generated so much interest in Japan that BAL is now offering pre-release purchase through DEDUE chapter of ZOZOTOWN shopping network.  Retails for JP¥ 36,750 (~US$ 375)
