For the 15th time in its franchise history, the Los Angles Lakers took home the Larry O’Brien NBA Championship Trophy last evening as the team defeated the Orlando Magic 99-86. A slow start at first, but the Lakers got their footing during the second quarter and never looked back. It was a night of culmination for Kobe Bryant as well, who not only realized his 4th NBA Championship title after a 7-year chase, but also took home his first Bill Russell Award as the NBA Finals Most Valuable Player. As celebration to his achievements, Nike fast tracked 3 t-shirts to honor the occasion.
First, the Carpe Diem Champagne Cork Tee, a simple sketch of an opened champagne cork adorned with 4 stars, Bryant’s 4 NBA Championship Titles, as well as his Latin motto Carpe Diem or Seize The Day. The special collection also include the humorous 4 Rings Tee, with 4 NBA Championship Rings adorning the 4-finger hand, in the likeness of Nike Most Valuable Puppets ad campaign. Last but not least is the MVP Tee, silk screened with metallic gold foil print and inlay with snakeskin pattern, a reference to Bryant’s nickname – the Black Mamba.
The Nike – Kobe Bryant NBA Championship MVP T-Shirt Collection will go on sale this week at selected Nike dealers and locations, for a limited time only.

No one needs to worry. I have a family member who works for Nike, and i am told the shirts will be available right around July 1st. So no one needs to go to ebay and pay $200. In fact, there is already a phone number set up where you can buy larger sizes right now!
Lakersstore.com has them for sale on the website. They are $30 each. The are selling out fast. Will take off the site as soon as all sizes are gone.
