A career and life unfortunately cut short by accidental overdose, Jean-Michel Basquiat never the less established a lasting legacy in the neo-impressionist genre, especially the movement in America. Furthermore, till his untimely death in 1988, Basquiat and fellow graffiti writer Keith Haring, ushered in a new wave of interest in the art form.
In honor of his accomplishments and a celebration of his life, Reebok is introducing a capsule collection bearing the late artist’s most famous works. Feature Reebok Freestyle, in black or white, with an all over pattern taken from Basquiat’s 1987 piece Pegasus. Another edition is another Reebok classic, the Ex-O-Fit-Hi, in another all-over print treatment, this time adopted from Untitled (aka Crown) from 1983. Both exclusive models are now available, in limited quantity, at the Parisian boutique Colette.
