Selfridges, Fred Perry…so many labels seem to be celebrating their centenary this year. Just before we forget or get slightly overwhelmed by just how aged some of our favorite labels are, one of America’s favorite heritage casual and sportswear label, Pendleton, is also celebrating its 100th Anniversary. As a part of its landmark birthday celebration, the brand had worked with one of our quirky favorites, Opening Ceremony, for a collaborative Fall 2009 collection. The collection draws heavily on Pendleton’s experience and history in Native American designs and virgin wool clothing, and uses these brightly colored pattern knits on chic shapes. Cozy sports jackets and vests for guys, and warm elongated wool coats for girls all remind us of those great finds we dream of uncovering at the flea market but never do. The new collection will be available at Opening Ceremony this coming August. These pieces will look arrestingly picturesque alongside beautiful fall foliage- finally we can truely say that we can’t wait for fall!
