Foundation Cartier – Born In The Streets – Graffiti Taxonomy: Paris 2009

By - July 14th, 2009

Foundation Cartier is taken over by graffiti rather literally starting July 7th to November 29th with a new exhibition, Born In The Streets. The exhibition traces the historical and artistic development of an urban art movement–graffiti, from the streets of New York City in the 1970s all the way to global penetration. As a part of the exhibition, the folks from Graffiti Research Lab put together a video,  Graffiti Taxonomy: Paris 2009, exploring 180 different letters tagged by 180 artists. Check out the video and pictures from the exhibition. If you are lucky enough to be in Paris by Nov 29, be sure to drop by Foundation Cartier and check out the graffiti both inside and outside the building for the exhibition. images via: 120z PROPHET
