One other label/retailer to be highlighted in the just announced FIVE-TWO 3 Collection by adidas Originals is the London-base maharishi. Established in 1994 by Creative Director Hardy Blechman, maharishi’s unique blending of militarism, especially its focus on DPM (the technical term for camouflage), along with work wear and urban fashion trend made the label
an early trend setter on global scene.
Staying with its militarism influence, the maharshi’s entry in to the FIVE-TWO 3 Project is based on the iconic Stan Smith. Completely revamped, in place of its light white canvas is a heavier, thick gauge organic twill in blue, in reference to naval uniforms used during the 2 World Wars. Contrast stitching in white reinforce portion of the upper as well as the maharishi emblem on the side and dragon on the tongue tab. Interior is lined with premium leather, in white, as sockliner.
This along with other from the new adidas Originals FIVE-TWO 3 Collection, including the previous mentioned Nom de Guerre collaboration, will be available in the coming weeks as selected adidas Originals retailers worldwide.
