Picture this: Pharrell's ears detached and went on a transcendental journey, going through several stages of metamorphosis while its previous owner stay bandaged Van Gogh style. This sublime journey is documented and created by Chinese artist, Yi Zhou, as a prelude to his film "My Heart Laid Bare" that was showing at OOI BOTO Gallery. This project not only includes Pharrell as the star, but also Ennio Morricone as the music composer and Rick Owens and BBC/Icecream for costume design.
The series ends in Pharrell reading a newspaper article about a Earbridge in Baku, Azerbijian, which carries the project back into reality. The ending sequence ties Yi Zhou's work with the public design program involving the likes of Cai Guo Qiang and Jean Nouvel that is due to take place in Azerbaijan in 2013.
We are delighted to see Pharrell branching out and getting more involved in the art world. This project seems extremely fitting especially when his last album was themed around seeing sounds. Kind of a Freudian touch to it, don't you think? via: Think Silly
