The UNDFTD and Nike Billboard Project continues with it’s newest version, Ver. 23, with artist Gary Simmons. The newest billboard features “earsure drawings” by Simmons and the words “Purple Haze” written across the billboard that overlooks the UNDFTD La Brea location. Gary Simmons is known for using various icons of American pop culture including cartoons and sports to create pieces that address both personal and collective experiences of race and class.
