New York-based German designer, Robert Geller, trained her Marc Jacobs and successfully revamped Andre Plokhov before starting his own line in Autumn/Winter 2007. The 2004 CFDA/ Vogue Grant Recipient is collaborating with American heritage denim label, Levis, this season to launch a capsule collection. Geller dipped into the Levis Archive and reworked 11 classic styles to his own aesthetics. WWD previewed the collection that will feature 11 pieces and only be sole at 12 Bloomingdales locations. The resulting look from this preview is a great layering of denim in different washes and feel, cut in modern silhouette that makes denim-on-denim more chic than cringe.
With the wave of throwback acid wash and destroyed denim on the streets, we seem to be challenging the taboos of denim and refashioning them into something coveted. Now with Robert Geller and Levis in tow, it seems like we can only expect more good things from the great denim experiment we have going on.via: WWD
