Mastermind Japan’s upcoming Fall/Winter 2009 collection is titled “Serenade” takes musical cues for their design direction and goes with a darker punk grunge look. The collection features classics remade with opulent material and colors– distressed denim jackets get an update with a fur trim, tailored blazers are crafted in a silky sheen finish, varsity jackets go rock and roll in all black…leather and dark denim are used extensively in this collection along with the recurring skull motif. Chunky knits and plaid give the collection that 90s Nirvana grunge, making this collection a solid and cohesive one. With recent expansions to Taiwan and Macau, Mastermind Japan is going strong and we are excited to see more coming from the label.
