Previous collaborations between graffiti legend FUTURA 2000 and Nike have elicited some amazing results. The “Dunkle” SB Dunk High uses some of FUTURA’s more recognizable artwork that was used frequently by the instrumental hip-hop collective, U.N.K.L.E. After that successful sneaker came the FUTURA P-Rod, which also got sneaker fans excited. Just recently, FUTURA worked with the LIVESTRONG line of Nike products on a http://freshnessmag.com/2009/07/15/nike-sportswear-livestrong-x-futura-x-nike-dunk-hi/”>Dunk High that flew off of shelves at the few spots where it was released.
Next up from FUTURA and Nike is a pack that features four different models of Air Force 1s. We saw http://freshnessmag.com/2009/06/22/nike-x-futura-air-force-1-low-spring-2010-samples/”>samples of this project in June, but now we can see the pack in detail. There are two high top and two low top models that are definitely a departure from the graphic and illustration-heavy approaches to previous FUTURA Nikes. These Air Force 1s go for the classic approach in single color choices–black, white, gray, and navy, allowing the shoe’s classic silhouette to speak for itself. The subtle details, like the use of both smooth and perforated leather and the incorporation of translucent outsoles that say “True” in FUTURA’s famous handstyle, make this Air Force 1 pack that releases in early 2010 one that collectors will swoon over yet again. via: http://glltn.com/blog/2009/08/18/futura-x-nike-air-force-1-true-pack/”>guillotine
