Canon PowerShot G11 Digital Camera

Digital imaging pioneer http://canon.com” target=”_blank”>Canon announced yesterday 6 new camera offerings to its http://usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ProductCatIndexAct&fcategoryid=113″ target=”_blank”>PowerShot (sometimes known as IXUS) collection, including a successor to the current flagship PowerShot G10 – the http://usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&fcategoryid=144&modelid=19209″ target=”_blank”>PowerShot G11. Designed with consumers who desired more options to try their creativity, the Canon PowerShot G-Series been the go-to standard for the so called “Pro-sumer” market segment in the last 9 years. The new PowerShot G11 is looking to continue that heritage but also to explore new advancements in digital imagery technology.

In essence, a SLR in a compact camera form factor, the Canon PowerShot G11 features a new High Sensitivity 10.0 Megapixel image sensor, incorporated with the new Dual Anti-Noise System. Working along with Canon’s DIGIC 4 image processor, the PowerShot G11 has the ability to reduce noise and increase picture quality by 2-stops. This allows end user capture stunning images in extreme low light conditions without the usage of flash or other artificial lighting means. In fact, in Low Light Mode, photographers could tweak up the ISO to a whopping ISO 12,800 using only ambient lighting. To complement the needs of prosumers, the new camera will have a 5x Optical Zoom, 28mm-140mm lens equipped with Optical Image Stabilization, a similar system found on Canon’s extensive SLR lens range. Another new feature is the return of swivel out viewfinder on the back of the G11. Found on earlier Canon G-Series Models, the swivel mount gives an ease for previewing and reviewing images or videos. A 2.8-inch vari-angle PureColor System LCD Screen gives the most accurate renditions in true colors and 461,000 pixels resolution. The new Canon PowerShot G11 Digital Camera will be available in October, in time for the holiday season, with suggested retail price of $499.99

The gorgeous results... Canon made a quick response to EP-1 and its Panasonic variant eventhough G11 is fixed lens body and smaller sensor, it seems to surpass ep-1 in terms of fine detail and grain (probably at base iso for now and as far as sample shows..) the G11 add*ons are market needs. Canon again listened the customers feedback and very responsive to market tendecies..pixel effenciency and megapixels are hand to hand in terms of better iso results with 1/1,7 CDD sensor. and may leave some doors open to G12 like bigger Cmoss sensor, HD movie, HDR option and better viewfinder without tunnel look.. very clear attack and timing is superb..I do not think G series will be interchangeable in future no nedd in deed..cause rangefinders are to cover 28 (W) - 140 (T) mm) what Canon offers..no telezoom approach suits the concept of rangefinders.Maybe Canon will make it further as 24-210 with distoriton control which means a dream for a rangefinder lover.. I am looking forward to getting the real samples with iso ranges.. Cong. Canon You can again...
