Whether we are speaking out of frivolity or out of honest tribute to commercialism, packaging matters. And for the most part, especially in the fragrance industry, nailing the bottle is winning half the battle. For this reason, http://kenzo.com”>Kenzo commissioned industrial designer, http://ronarad.com”>Ron Arad (who had previously designed chandeliers for Swarovski), to create a new vessel for fragrance that will break industry codes and challenge the norms of bottle design. Titled, Unidentified Fragrance Object, the bottle is smoothly polished in the shape of an infinity sign with Zamac (metal allow). The UFO is designed to evoke sensuality when touches and comes with a complete internalized spray system. Such is the intrinsic design value of the UFO that it was unveiled at Ron Arad’s exhibition, No Discipline, at http://moma.org”>MoMA this month.
The fragrance is limited to a run of 1,000 and is only available at http://bergdorfgoodman.com”>Bergdorf Goodman and online at http://kenzo.com”>Kenzo.
