As to be seen on tennis superstars, Maria Sharapova, Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Serena Williams is the new US Open 2009 Tennis Collection from Nike. Just unveiled this past Wednesday at the Nike Pop-Up Tennis Court, in time for the US Open this coming week, is a collection of apparel and footwear that we will be seeing on ESPN. Each piece is designed with the player in mind: Federer’s embodies his contemporary style in red and black with embossed dot pattern inspired by the subway of New York City; Serena Williams has hers inspired by cocktail party dresses with soft pleating at neckline and a pin-tuck detail; Nadal’s are in a bold yellow, corresponding to his penchant for bright colors; and last but not least, Sharapova’s is feminine in pink layered under a lavender jacket with ruffle at the collar.
All apparel features Nike’s Dri-Fit technology to keep the players’ games up. Check out the specially designed fear for our tennis players before we get to watch them in action next week.
