Last Wednesday, Freshness joined the hip NYC crowd at Skyline Gallery for the K-Swiss Spring 2010 Collection showcase. The consummate California sports brand put on a runway event, "Play Nice" as a celebration to kick off U.S Open and a nod to the brand's roots in tennis.
While the brand started off in 1966 with a leather tennis shoe, today, the brand spans into other sports and showcased related get up for skateboarding, running, fitness and lifestyle. As everyone sipped on Patron cocktails, WTA World Tour Number 7 Vera Zvonavera, triathlete Henry Hagenbuch and Jenny Fletcher, skateboarder Greg Lutzka and Anna Kournikova who rounded out the show walking down the runway with kids from the Boys and Girls Club of America.
The brand's branching out into lifestyle gear is interesting and we see some cool, chunky hi-tops in various materials and colors that bode well with the other colorful but wearable basics. Post runway, the party moved onto the rooftop where DJ Justine D spun tunes and partygoers stayed out despite the drizzle. Check out event photos from the runway show and party as U.S Open volleys on this season.
