The matrimony of three countries never looked better on denim-- for one, Japan is known for producing one of the finest indigo dyed denim with top quality cotton twill; meanwhile, America is the land and origination of the blues, and Australia has a great share of coveted denim labels such as Ksubi and Imperial that tread their way out of down under and stomped the global denim scene.
Thus, good things can only happen when Self Edge's Kiya Babzani approached Australia's Imperial to collaborated on a new pair of slim cut denim with great fade to be produced in Ibara, Japan. This is the 8th collaboration between the brands and this time around, the brands produced a pair of 15oz unsanforized denim with high intensity fade in black and indigo that will characterize with age due to the lack of process after weaving.
The darker and more technical coloring in a fitting cut gives the jeans a dressier edge. Also, leather tags and silkscreens are specially produced for this collaboration, paying homage to the jeans' Japanese, American and Australian roots. If you are still searching for the perfect slim-cut jeans with chain-stitched details, look no further but take time out to visit Self Edge NYC and Self Edge San Francisco this Saturday, Sep 5 at noon for a pair. If you can't make it out there, sweat not, they will also be available online starting 2pm EST the same day.
