Where there is Vogue, there will be fashion and shopping rampant in the city on Sep 10. In New York City, not only are participating retailers and designers opening late, many will be hosting events and even parties to inject new life into the city’s retail scene after a dreary year of economic downturn. Philip Lim will be selling five favorite pieces from his past five years of archives on the night while Diane Von Furstenburg will be turning her Meatpacking District location into one big party.
On the other side of town closer to Philip Lim’s Mercer Street Store, Opening Ceremony, the New York City merchant of cool, will be having “trunk sale” at the Howard Street store front. Expect to scour through selective merchandise such as from canvas totes and stationery from Rodarte, tees with cityscape print from Alexander Wang, bow ties from Band of Outsiders, and special exclusive Opening Ceremony items such as collaborative sneakers with Keds/Pro-Keds and totes.
Open for all to rummage through till midnight, shopping-induced hunger will be curbed by sweet snacks from Momofuku Milk Bar, famed Van Leeuwen Ice Cream and Heartschallenger.
Another highlight of the night– many designers such as Alexander Wang, Kate and Laura Mulleavy of Rodarte and Scott Sternberg from Band of Outsiders/Boy, and Erin Wasson will also be stopping by the Trunk Show. Shop, eat and meet the designers– we don’t think there’s a better way to spend Thursday night. Check out the items that will be available and the video for collaboration between Opening Ceremony and Keds/Pro-Keds. Fashion’s Night Out – Opening Ceremony Trunk Show
