Though not a household name, at least not yet, many of us have already interact with works by artist Stephen Bliss. As the Senior Artist at Rockstar Games, Bliss came up with visual conception in some of most well known gaming titles, including the outrageously popular Grand Theft Auto franchise. Along side to the Green Label Art by Mountain Dew, over 200 fans, friends, and well-wishers visited the etnies Showroom Gallery this past Friday evening to see what is his most recent exhibition here in the U.S. Some have came as far as England, where Bliss grew up, just for a glimpse of the new works. In the tradition of gaming design, Bliss painted large story boards, each with a minute reflection on his own journey, from Japan to now at Rockstar Games. And like the video games, Bliss wanted certain interaction between the installations and the audience, hence, the paint-by-numbers visual cue. Visitors were encouraged to add their own “touches” with supplied paint and brushes. Invited guests were treated to autographed art bottles and display cases as well.
The Green Label Art Volume III (3) Exhibit will be open to public till this Thursday, September 24th, with a final special exhibition by Claw Money starting this Tuesday . In the meantime, you could find all the Green Label Art bottles out at selected convenient stores, including a mystery black bottle. Be sure to check under the cap for a chance at Green Label Gear sweepstakes prizes, like Casio G-Shock watch designed by UPSO, New Era cap by Claw Money, Burton snowboard by Stephen Bliss, and more…
