The third release from the http://nike.com”>Nike Doernbecher Freestyle VI collection is the all popular Dunk designed by Makayla Hansen who is an aspiring songwriter, film maker and self confessed dog nut from http://doernbecherfoundation.org”>Doernbecher Children’s Hospital. The theme for this pair is in your face with the brightly colored basketballs printed all over the toe box, side panel and upper heel sections. Multi-colored laces tie in the colors together with crisp white tongue and pink tongue tag. One the side of the sneaker features a black Swoosh with white/pink basketball embroidered on top of it. Blue basketball like materials are used on the rest of the upper with white midsole matched with icy outsole.

Makayla is from Elgin, Oregon and has been diagnosed with Alagille syndrome which is a genetic disorder that affects the liver, heart and other systems of the body. Problems associated with the disorder generally become evident in infancy or early childhood. The disorder is inherited in an autosomal dominant pattern and the estimated prevalence of Alagille syndrome is 1 in every 100,000 live births.
