This will be the first time that these long time collaborators have gotten together for a combined exhibition. With their completely different artistic styles, the fusion of the two artists are definitely worth checking out. Retna uses the brush in his calligraphic style that is abstract and traditional. On the other hand Mac uses the spray can in an almost brush like photo realistic style.
Vagos y Reinas brings their outdoor work inside. The title of the show, which translates to “Vagrants and Queens”, references Mac and Retna’s street infused styles and celestial depictions of women. On exhibit are large scale pieces that represent some of their best work together. Check below for the past works by the artists which provides an introduction into their skills.
