The Jordan Brand Hallowed Ground is a shoe that seems to be flexible in the styling department. It looks as if this model will be the team shoe for the 09-2010 season, and this particular pair shows what the right customization can do to match a team’s uniform. In this case, the team is the Oak Hill Academy Warriors, who is Jordan Brand team member Carmelo Anthony’ alma mater. A storied and rich history of N.B.A. standouts includes players like Kevin Durant (who later transferred), Ty Lawson, Rod Strickland, and Jerry Stackhouse, who all put on the Warriors uniform. ‘Melo made his way from Oak Hill to Syracuse for one year where he won the National Championship in 2003. The rest is a well-known history of N.B.A. and marketing success.
“Oak Hill” appears stiched in Maize on the tongue, and the Warrior mascot adorns the footbed to give this shoe some team customized features. The sole on the heel utilizes the splatter color much like the models we’ve shown in the past. Most of the shoe upper is black, while contrast stitching, tooling, and the lining all use a bright red. These are a striking shoe in their own right, but if you are a huge ‘Melo fan, these are a unique addition to your collection.
