Categorized from gritty to even grotesque, Robert Dennis Crumb’s, or better known as R. Crumb, edgy comics dealing with American culture are both critical and humorous. His satirical (and funny) point of view on the true reality of everyday lives have made him a sort of icon among members of sub-culture. Now a member of modern Americana, VANS co-created a limited collection of footwear based on R. Crumb popular caricatures, including Mr. Natural – in VANS SK8-Hi form, and Frtiz the Cat, as a slip-on edition. Part of the VANS Fall-Winter 2009 season, both are currently available at selected VANS dealers, including colette of Paris.
