When The North Face decided in 2008 to end its new production line, The North Face 485 Collection, it create a void in the marketplace. The now defunct collection, which closely resembled its Japanese counterpart, The North Face Purple Label, was a cross between technical apparel and traditional silhouette. Now, another outdoor/technical apparel label is aiming to fill that gap in the market. Arc’teryx, most famous for its Arc’teryx LEAF Program and as an official supplier of the U.S. Armed Forces, just introduced the new Veilance Collection this season. Based on classic forms, the Arc’teryx Veilance Collection focus on 3 tenets – design, material, and construction. Each item was designed with the anatomical outline in mind, with the current styling added-on. Next, the application of advance materials such Gore-Tex, Windstopper, and others. Finally, the construction in old-world tailoring and high tech seamless application.
