A contrast between old and new anatomical models, designer Dr. Romanelli “surgically” cut away the midsection of Hello Kitty in his new collaboration with Sanrio and MEDICOM TOY CO. A rather interesting revelation was discovered in the process – just how similar Hello Kitty and her innards looked. Comes in contemporary colorway and “antiqued” finish, the exclusive figures will be available at selected retailers sometime in January 2010. Similar to all previous editions, no actual cat was harmed during the process…

After Pendleton, Opening Ceremony turned to Timberland to revamp more classics with the famous OC touch. The label reworked 6″ Timberland boots into easy slip-ons with broad elastic laces, an interesting structural and technical change for the well-loved classic Timberland boots. Also, the team decided to turn some summer boat shoes into Fall appropriate boots in great colorways of wheat and olive, but treated with some deliberate worn-in distressed look. While the limited edition shoes will be hitting stores on Monday, Opening Ceremony decided to host a two-day presale for all the overwhelmingly enthusiastic response they received for the collaboration. For those who are hoping to cop a pair, the kicks are now available for order till Thursday, October 15th.

In retrospect, 1990s New York City was a time to be missed. These two photographers are pooling together their photo chronicles of New York City in the nineties that not only documented the era, but also presents themselves as harbingers of the future. The exhibition will kick off at The North Face on Oct 14 in Tokyo, and will then shift southward to Osaka. Do take some time to drop by and let’s all reminisce about how far along we had come since almost two decades ago.
